HISTORY
Frederick Charles Weston was born to a family whose riches surpassed most persons of that time. Fred was born to Lillian and Gerard Weston October 30th, 1848 in the city of London, England. At that time, nobility was everything. Your very name determined what and how you were to be raised. Poor families were raised to be persons of hard work and forced to thieve. Rich persons were raised to be above all and forced to mingle with people their parents paired them with. On both sides of the spectrum, there was something the other always wanted. Frederick always wanted the freedom the poor had.
In 1853, Fred's family had caught wind that a family with a name whose status was higher than their own was looking to betroth their newborn daughter. Lillian and Gerard leaped at the chance to have their son marry into this family. They were put through the rituals of nobility. Fancy dinner parties, play dates for the children, and summer get-aways. Within two years of the announcement, Fred was chosen as the primary fiance for their daughter. At the time, Frederick was happy to be able to spend time with his new friend, despite their age gap.
Several years had passed and the year was 1862. Frederick had just celebrated his fourteenth birthday when tragedy struck the Mulclaire family. Frederick's betrothed had caught scarlet fever and had passed away. Frederick went into a grave depression and state of mourning. He was so much so that his mother thought the best way to get over this was to ship Frederick off to the Americas. He was accepted into one of the most prestigious boarding schools that money could buy at the time. As the years passed, Fred's resentment toward his parents faded, his grades drastically improved, and soon, he graduated.
Fred frequently sent letters to his mother back home, describing his achievements and his failures. His mother was always one to encourage him to do his best, even if it meant failing. At the age of twenty, Frederick received a letter from his father. This was a bizarre occurrence as it was always his mother who wrote. In the letter it stated that Frederck's mother had fallen ill and wasn't expected to live much longer. Frederick was fresh out of school and had employment in New Orleans that didn't pay enough to support himself and be able to pay his way back home. A few months later, Frederick received the news that his mother had succumbed to her illness. Fred was broken, yet again as the two women that he had ever loved passed away.
In regret and grief, Frederick turned to the bottle for many years.
1874. Twenty-six years of age and Frederick was found at a local saloon. He was a regular there for many years and had always gone home with one of the resident females. On this particular night, however, there was a new girl on the floor. Odessa Ryelle. She was a pale beauty and a favorite among the many patrons at the saloon. She had a keen interest in Fred, sending him the eye, flirting with him constantly. In his drunken stupor, the man walked out of the saloon with Odessa, following her, laughing, kissing, inappropriate touching. It was all fun and games until Odessa lured him into a secluded part of the forest nearby. To Fred's knowledge she would do the usual, he would pay, and they would go their separate ways. He was wrong.
Fred was pushed up against the truck of a tree, his hands placed forcefully above his head. Her lips trailed his, then moved toward his neck. Before Fred was even aware of what was going on, a sharp pain flowed through his veins. His vision blurred and soon faded all together. Odessa drained him until there was almost nothing left except a very faint heartbeat. She moved away from her victim, leaving Fred's body fall to the ground. Odessa vanished. Fred could feel the blood through his veins slowly stop running, he could feel his heart beating ever more slowly, until it had stopped completely. His mind fogged over, erasing his memories, and the pain he was enduring. He thought of the end of his life as a blissful sleep. No pain, no thoughts, no harm.
A gasp followed by heaving breathing. Life was put back into Fred, with a thirst so painful, Fred thought that he was better off dead. Frederick opened his eyes to see a group of men standing around him, in awe. It was almost as if they had all seen a ghost. Frederick looked about and feared the worst. His fledgling fangs pierced through his gums, as he launched himself forward. He drained one after the other until five bodies lay motionless on the ground. Frederick knew what he had become. A Vampire.
Now that more than a hundred years has passed, Frederick has come to terms with being a vampire. He tries to mingle as best as he can with the public, only coming out in the evenings or when cloud cover suits his needs. Frederick is now in search of a witch that can bestow the gift of walking in daylight. He was always told that he would find the One in New Orleans.
Finding nothing in New Orleans to help in walk in the daylight, Frederick returned to a small town that welcomed all creatures like himself. He found home and peace in the small town of Hollow Falls.
